Why choose through hole welding?
Although surface mount components will constitute most of the components used in circuit board manufacturing, there is still a critical need for through-hole components. These components are not dead yet and will continue to play an important role in circuit board manufacturing for a long time to come. For example, another basic requirement for through-hole parts is the traditional design. Many of these boards must be built to exact copy requirements to ensure that there is no deviation in the function of the boards. Components used in PCB assemblies controlled by exact copy rules must match the components they were originally designed for, or the entire design will have to be revalidated. Revalidation is time-consuming and costly.
What is THT?
THT is the through hole insertion technique. THT refers to the through hole welding of the connector, usually by hand welding or wave soldering.
From the perspective of assembly technology, the THT process is insert rather than stick. On traditional THT printed circuit boards, the components and solder joints are located on both sides of the board.
THT process: plug-in, pre-coated flux, wave soldering, foot cutting, testing.
DIP
